frequently asked questions

  • If you’re looking for a therapist who’s curious, thoughtful, & tries to be human with laughter & adding a swear word here & there — someone who helps you explore both emotionally & intellectually — we might be a good fit. A free consult can help us feel that out together, so contact me.

  • I blend collaborative methods to explore modern science, philosophy, education, literature, theory, emotion, & attachment—so I can move with clients & help make sense of complex relational & internal patterns. I’m not afraid of depth—or taboo: whether it’s identity, power, kink, fear, or family, no topic is off-limits.

  • We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, & begin getting a feel for how we’ll work together. You don’t need to prepare — just come as you are.

  • I ask a ton of questions, bringing curiosity, care, laughter, & insight — without being clinical or cold.

  • I work best with thoughtful, high-functioning individuals & partnerships navigating relationships, life transitions, anxiety, or inner conflict—especially those looking to explore more deeply, not just seek a quick fix. A few clients have jokingly nicknamed me their “gay between,” since I help them explore perspectives & relationship norms outside of what they’ve always known. I welcome & affirm clients of all races, genders, & backgrounds, including fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

  • I see therapy as a garden we cultivate together — planting insights, pruning what no longer serves you, and nurturing the growth you want. I only accept new folks who can commit to a weekly slot for the first eight weeks so we can tend the work consistently. After which, we’ll reevaluate the rhythm that best supports your journey.

I currently do not work directly with insurance. Many folks choose to use their out-of-network benefits or pay out-of-pocket, which gives more freedom to choose a therapist who fits your needs and allows us to work more flexibly toward your goals. For those seeking insurance reimbursement, I provide a Superbill that can be submitted to most plans.

  • I work with people in all relationship structures—monogamous, non-monogamous, or unsure. I don’t believe one structure fits every relationship, but I do believe it’s worth exploring understanding before decisions.

  • Yes—telehealth is available to anyone in Texas. Although, to be honest, I prefer in-person sessions when possible.

  • My office is in the Montrose neighborhood, within Houston’s Inner Loop. This central location makes it easy to reach from Midtown, The Heights, River Oaks, The Galleria, and other nearby areas:

Address: 4306 Yoakum Boulevard, Suite 385, Houston, TX 77006

    Office Hours: Mondays-Thursdays, 2pm-8pm

  • To protect the continuity of the work, each person is allowed one cancellation credit every four months, helping your growth receive consistent care. I try to reschedule and work with folks but I request a 24 hour notice to reschedule.

  • Often, yes — individual therapy can help each person build awareness and grounding that deepens the couples work. But there’s no one right order for healing. Sometimes the relationship itself is the best place to start growing. What matters most is your readiness to show up with honesty and curiosity.

  • It’s more common than you might think — not every therapist is the right fit for every person, & that’s okay. If you’ve had a hard experience in the past, we can talk about it & move at a pace that feels safe & collaborative.
